David Unaipon: First Nations Inventor

Are you an inventor?

Do you love to create, imagine, and bring the unimaginable to life? Bribie Island Seaside Museum Imaginarium invites you to explore invention and innovation.

Australia’s very own Leonardo da Vinci - David Unaipon - used imagination and genius to change the world.

He was born in 1872 and grew into an ambitious man with vision to invent and to create. His lifelong fascination with science and innovation produced inventions ahead of his time.

Are you ready to invent the future? Come join us and let your imagination run wild!

Playback

Visit the new Imaginarium Playback at Pine Rivers Heritage Museum and get your game on!

This free, intergenerational play space is full of old school games and technology.

Atari, Nintendo or Sega? Learn about gaming consoles and iconic games of the past. Explore the history of electronic gaming from Pac-Man and Space Invaders to Tetris.

During your visit, make sure to challenge your friends and family with a board game or arcade game. Can you beat our local Rubik’s Cube champion, cracking a 3x3 cube blindfolded in 14 seconds?

Museum trail: The Playback time machine has malfunctioned!

We programmed the machine to go back to the 1980s for our new Imaginarium, Playback. Now the machine has dropped random old school technology all around the museum. Can you help us find all the objects?

Explore unique objects from the past and receive a special sticker for saving the museum!

The Barn

Ready your boots and straw hat to experience life on the farm like never before at Redcliffe Museum!

Make your own animal ears, learn about First Nations agriculture through interactive displays, and imagine life as an Australian farmer.

Museum trail: Feed your curiosity and help Farmer Tom on our farming museum trail!

Follow the clues and explore all your senses! Play a mini game with our mystery box, weigh your fruits and veggies before they go to the market and find the cheeky animals hiding in the shed.

Learn about the history of the Redcliffe area as you journey through the museum. Immerse yourself at the barn and have fun in this hands-on learning experience.
