Artist Sunday Jemmott has transformed The Hub Gallery into The Ribbon Room.
Have you ever received a participation ribbon? Often, competition and awards go hand in hand.
In The Ribbon Room, participation is the greatest currency. It can transform our everyday lives into our boldest achievements.
In this space you can explore this form of decoration through play. Use colourful ribbons and let loose your self-expression.
Sunday Jemmott is an emerging artist based in Brisbane/Magandjin. They use a vibrant, mixed media approach to celebrate trivialised aesthetics. They emphasise the value of play in art and contemporary culture.
Sunday's work invites you to create art through abstraction, materials and childhood nostalgia. They advocate for the power of joy in understanding our everyday life.
