Dive deeper into portraiture with our Looking Closer: Creative Space activities!

In our mirror room learn the basics of drawing a portrait and then test out your skills to sketch your reflection.

Try on one of the dress-up items or choose a fun mirror to see what looks back at you.

Explore the senses and engage with prompts to play with different modes of sketching a self-portrait. How does seeing, hearing and feeling change how we express ourselves?

Each activity is set to ignite the senses and evoke different associations of the self. 

The Art Investigator also makes its return - where you can scour the exhibition and find artworks in our kids’ art trail. Discover them all to receive a prize.

This creative space is shown alongside exhibition Looking out, looking in. Drawing from QAGOMA's Australian, Indigenous Australian, Asia Pacific and International collections, the exhibition highlights richly diverse approaches to the timeless artistic genre.
