Superseded planning scheme requests

Requests for development to be assessed under a superseded scheme can be made within twelve months of the new planning scheme taking effect. Superseded planning scheme requests must be received by Council by 31 January 2017.

For further information about superseded planning scheme requests refer to the fact sheet provided by the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning:

To lodge a superseded planning scheme request, the following needs to be undertaken:

  1. Complete an application form (scroll down to the IDAS templates table for applicants, SPA Form 2)
  2. Pay the required fee
  3. Provide plans and other relevant supporting material
  4. Submit the form, plans and other relevant supporting material to Council

If Council agrees to a request to apply a superseded planning scheme to assessable development, the subsequent Development application (Superseded planning scheme) must then be made within six months.
