Audiobooks

The libraries have a wide range of audiobook titles in fiction and non-fiction for all age levels and interests, in both CD and mp3 formats. These are particularly popular with visually impaired customers, but may be used by all borrowers.

Genres include general fiction, romance, historical, crime and mystery, and suspense. Nonfiction talking books cover a wide range of subjects.

CDs

The music collection has CDs that cater to a variety of tastes.

The adult music collection is divided into major musical genres: Popular & Rock; Classical; Country; Jazz & Blues; Relaxation & World Music; Soundtracks.

The children's music collection aims to develop literacy, language and communication skills through song, rhythm and rhyme.

A limited selection of music can be downloaded for free.

Library CDs should not be used in players with a stacking mechanism as they may cause jamming or damage. Moreton Bay Regional Council does not accept responsibility for damage caused by library items or equipment.

DVDs

The DVD collection includes feature films, educational, instructional and sports programs, documentaries, anime, live music performances, and television series.

Children are catered for with a range of appropriate movies, television programs, stories and music in the Junior DVD collection.

Where possible DVDs are chosen with closed captions for the hearing impaired, subtitles, and foreign language options.

All DVDs carry the appropriate Australian government classification label, and borrowing and reservation restrictions apply to those labelled MA15+ and R18+. Restricted items are chosen with care and must comply with strict selection criteria.

Libraries also subscribe to some free streaming video services.
