What are Library Book Clubs...?

  • A group of people who meet regularly to discuss a pre-selected book; usually they meet monthly to understand, appreciate and talk about the book they have read.
  • An opportunity to meet new people and discover new authors, share ideas and experiences about books and about our different lives.
  • A reason to read and an opportunity to share, chance to get in touch with reading people and be active in a local friendly group.

Join a Book Club!

Moreton Bay Region Libraries supports almost 200 Book Clubs across the region, offering reading advice and Book Club Sets to members. Readers can enjoy the benefits of being part of a Book Club, without the expense of buying books every month.

Contact any of our libraries to start your own or join an already established Book Club. Library Staff can refer you to a local club with vacancies or help you to start a new club.

When you're ready to start your own group, all the information you need to get started is on our Book Club Resources page.

Featured Event

Learn about Book Clubs at Books, Wine & Cheese or Books, Coffee & Cake events. Enjoy a beverage and nibbles while you mingle with other Book Club members for an evening or afternoon of literature and fun.

Book Club Sets

Book Club Sets contain 10 copies of the same title and are available for loan by all Book Clubs registered with Moreton Bay Region Libraries. Most Sets also contain a discussion guide to help you with your discussion of the book. If there is no discussion guide available, you can find some generic discussion questions that may suit among our Book Club Resources website links.
