Rothwell Hall is located within McKillop Park which features a barbeque area, playground and a large shady grassed area making it an ideal location for children's birthday parties. The hall is conveniently located within walking to distance to shops and public transport.

The venue is a self-service model. All hirers are responsible for set-up/pack-down and cleaning of the venue before the conclusion of the hire.

The hall has a capacity of 70 people.

Accessibility

Rothwell Hall is accessible from the car park to the main entry door with a designated accessible parking bay.

The internal amenities include an accessible toilet.

Please inspect the venue prior to booking to ensure the facility meets your accessibility requirements.

Bookings

Rothwell Hall is managed by Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre on behalf of Council.

Regular hire is available at this facility. A regular hirer is an individual or organisation that has bookings on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. 

  • Booking requests are required at least one week prior to the requested hire date.
  • A minimum of one hour hire applies to all bookings.
  • Bookings can be requested up to one year in advance.
  • Council may charge a refundable security bond to cover potential damage to the facility during hire. Use the bond estimate calculator to estimate bond payable.

How to book

  1. Check availability and complete the online booking request.
  2. Review site induction program and complete registration. Note the reference number provided. You will need this number to complete your application. Inductions are current for 12 months.

Restrictions

  • Hirers are not permitted to sleep in the venue overnight.
  • Equipment may be left in the venue if the hirer has a booking for the following day, or by arrangement with Hall Management.
  • Smoking is not permitted in, or within 5 metres of, Council venues, except for designated smoking areas.
  • The use of open flames including but not limited to candles, lanterns or smoke machine is prohibited.
  • Decorative items such as glitter, rice, rose petals, sand or confetti is not permitted.
  • Decorations must not be affixed in any way that may cause damage; this includes, but is not limited to sticky tape, pins or tacks.
  • Animals with the exception of assistance animals, are not permitted in council venues without Council approval.

Venue inspections

Hall Management may provide prospective hirers the opportunity to view the hall prior to booking. Inspections are by appointment only and depend upon the hall manager and venue availability.
