Redcliffe Art GalleryVolunteers
Volunteers play an integral part in the Moreton Bay Galleries’ on-going success at being a valuable part of the community. As a volunteer you can learn more about the art world, socialise and be involved in public events, children’s activities and retail.
The opportunities are as diverse as you want them to be or otherwise you can come just for the enjoyment of meeting new people and being part of the community. Volunteers also enjoy quarterly bus trips to various art galleries or events, as well as Christmas functions.
Areas of interest
Our friendly volunteers at the front desk are an integral part of the day to day running of the galleries. They make our customers feel welcome and assist with many administrative roles. This includes mail outs, receiving bookings and processing shop sales. It is also a good place to meet new people and make friends.
Public programs & events
With each exhibition we have an opening event and a series of talks and workshops throughout the month. Volunteers are welcome to attend these events and may also lead some if interested.
We like our volunteers to have company and therefore we always endeavour to have two volunteers per shift. Please note that new volunteers are given an induction and then rostered with an experienced long term volunteer for the first few months as part of the learning process. Morning and afternoon shifts are available and vary depending on the gallery.
We are currently looking for people to join our friendly team of volunteers. We are seeking volunteers with availability ranging from one day a month to one day a week. All involvement is enthusiastically welcomed.
How to apply
To volunteer with our enthusiastic and friendly team please fill out the volunteer online application and someone will contact you shortly.
For more information please contact the gallery with which you wish to volunteer.
Being a volunteer at the Redcliffe Art Gallery is being involved in the art world. You meet new and established artists and, being an artist myself, they give me inspiration.
It is a very multicultural mix of volunteers I work with so I get to hear about different sides of life and communities which is very interesting.
Coming to opening nights is always fun, talking to artists and the public and an enjoyable little snack after the talks.
Being a volunteer means that I can give back a little to the community where I have lived for the past 30 yrs.
