Council will deliver a major enhancement to Redcliffe’s cultural heart with the addition of a new art gallery and community space at the Redcliffe Administration Centre.
As part of the 2018/19 budget, council has allocated $2 million to the project which will see the Redcliffe Art Gallery relocate from its current location to provide additional space for exhibitions and public programs. The new 1000m2 gallery will feature display areas, new front counter, a courtyard, studio space, storage, curatorial space and general amenities.
Other enhancements will include the establishment of a new customer service area and space for community groups on the ground floor. Council’s regular public meetings will continue to be held on the upper level of the building.
The project is currently in tender and early works phase. Construction of the overall project is planned to start in February 2019 and is expected to be complete by early 2020.
