Meet debut author Gillian Wills as she shares the real life music college stories that inspired her novel, Big Music.
Beat is given her chance to shine when appointed dean of Turalong Music School; but fine tuning this institution is not what she expected. Determined to revive the school's reputation despite squabbling colleagues and conflicting musical traditions; she decides to offer a fresh spin on programming. But will her plan to combine Beethoven and rock bring her staff together or leave them further apart?

Gillian will be signing copies of her book after her talk. Book sales at the event courtesy of Shelflovers Bookshop.

About the author
Gillian Wills is a graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, an author and arts writer. Gillian has published with Inreview, ABR, Australian Stage Online, Limelight, Griffith Review and The Australian. Her memoir, Elvis and Me: how a world-weary musician and a broken racehorse rescued each other, published in 2016. A former Dean of Music at the Victorian College of Arts, Gillian now lives in Queensland.
