Enjoy the physical, emotional, mental and social benefits of group singing in this all ages, all abilities workshop where you are invited to sing for joy!

Drawing on jubilant acapella songs from around the world, facilitators from around the region will gently guide you through a series of simple and effective tunes you can learn and take with you through the year. No previous singing ability is required.

With a focus on round songs and simple parts, you'll be making joyful sounds as a group in no time at all! Family groups are encouraged to attend together as intergenerational participation is sure to guarantee you'll keep singing these songs long after the workshop finishes.

Communal singing has been proven to calm heart rates, boost the immune system, reduce depression and stress and build feelings of social cohesion and closeness. Don't miss this opportunity to start 2022 with a joyful burst of vocal energy.

This event is suitable for all ages. Family attendance is encouraged. Remember to bring along some water.

What to expect:

  • a fun and gentle atmosphere to sing as a group
  • the teaching method requires no previous singing experience or music reading ability
  • the workshop will be in two halves. The first 40 minutes will be fun, easy and accessible for all ages. After a short break, the second half will be a little more complex. Parents with children are welcome to leave after part one if they wish.

What not to expect:

  • this is not a choir. There is no written music or printed lyrics.
