Teacher and student resources

Teacher and student local history resources with Australian Curriculum links for Year 5. The resources include lesson plans and library based activities to guide students through the research process and images, photographs, maps and glossaries, to help students and teachers understand significant events in Moreton Bay’s history.

World War I resources

Discover stories about courage, integrity, resilience, mateship, teamwork, duty and sacrifice - values which are integral to the ANZAC spirit. Libraries have developed online education resources to meet the needs of the school history curriculum around WWI. Researchers will find this site of interest also, with information focused on regional connections to wartime. Find World War I service personnel from the Moreton Bay region, and locate early World War I memorials in the region. Caboolture district

  • Caboolture district history
    Caboolture has a rich, yet quiet history. With its proximity to Brisbane, capital city of Queensland, Caboolture was one of the first areas of the State opened to European settlement.

Pine Rivers district

  • Pine Rivers district history
    Prior to European settlement, the Pine Rivers district was home to a number of Aboriginal clans belonging to the Turrbal, Kabi (Kabi Kabi or Gubbi Gubbi) and Waka (Wakka Wakka) language groups.

Redcliffe district

  • Redcliffe district history
    Redcliffe underwent a significant land boom in the 1880s and was quickly gaining a reputation as a seaside resort - offering a seaside experience similar to many of the holiday destinations in England.

    Presents the unique social and cultural history of Redcliffe during the decade 1939-1949 covering the War Years and the first few years after the war.

    A unique collection of photographs dating from the 1880s to the present, featuring images of events, industry, people and places in the greater Redcliffe area.
