Volunteer Marine Rescue, Bribie Island is on emergency call 24 hours a day seven days a week operating out of its base station in Marine Parade, off Sylvan Beach Esplanade, Bellara.
VMR Bribie rescue crews conduct regular patrols at weekends and holidays from 8.00am to 5.00pm as well as during the week when required.
The radio, a lifeline for boating enthusiasts, operates all year round seven days a week from 6.00am to 6.00pm on:
- 27 MHZ, channels 86, 88, 90
- VHF channels 16, 21, 67, 73 and 81
Volunteer Marine Rescue Bribie Island Inc has more than 1,600 members of which 150 are actively involved in crew, radio, fundraising or other operations relating to the running of the base.
