Facility Development Fund

The Facility Development Fund supports the planning and development of new, and improvement to existing community facilities throughout the Moreton Bay region.

Community facilities include community, cultural, environmental, and sport and recreation facilities where communities meet and participate in activities that celebrate the lifestyle, environment and culture of the region.

Organisations applying for funding under the Facility Development Fun must:

  • have an existing land tenure agreement with Council and be complaint with all relevant conditions of the agreement; or
  • own or be a trustee of the land/ facility and demonstrate how the project will benefit the broader community

Facility Planning

This category provides financial assistance for the planning and design of proposed developments to community facilities.

Facility Improvement

This category provides financial assistance for capital development to community facilities that will assist to increase community access and participation in community and cultural activities, sport and recreation in the Moreton Bay region.

Interest Free Loans for Facility Improvements

Interest Free Loans are available to eligible organisations for capital developments to community facilities.

Community grant workshop sessions

Community Grants Workshops will be held throughout the region to promote the opening of the new grant round and to provide information to prospective applicants.

Project: Wallum Centre Extension Planning
Grant funding: $4,400

Redcliffe Peninsula Lapidary Club Inc received $4,400 in the 2015/16 Round 2 for extension planning and design at the Wallum Centre. The grant assisted with costs for concept and engineering structural drawings with the aim to extend the centre for increased club capacity, community participation and exhibition space.

Project: Solar Panels
Grant funding: $9,674.25

Beachmere RSL were successful in receiving $9,674.25 in the 2015/16 Round 2 to install new solar panels on the roof of their club. The panels have since helped to reduce electricity costs and redirect funds towards building a stronger organisation that supports local veterans in the community.
