Bears to picnic for Scarborough fair

Teddies

Join in a morning of free family fun this Wednesday, May 9 when Moreton Bay Regional Council’s popular Teddy Bears’ Picnic transforms Jamieson Park into a Scarborough Fair.

Division 5 Councillor James Houghton encouraged the region’s families to attend the bear-y special event and said there will be more than two hours of free stage entertainment together with free activities including an animal farm, rides and face painting.

“It all kicks off at 9am with a stellar line-up of interactive shows that will have kids singing and dancing to some of their favourite nursery rhymes and songs,” Cr Houghton said.

Stage acts include a drumming workshop, The Princess Anna and Kristoff Show, Care Bear Show, Rhyme Time and teddy bear parade.

“Just bring your favourite teddy bear and a picnic rug for a fun-filled morning by the water.”

Division 6 Councillor Koliana Winchester said there will also be plenty on offer for parents, with food stalls and community information stands.

“Local childcare providers, community groups and sporting associations will be on hand with plenty of free and helpful resources, and to answer any questions you may have,” Cr Winchester said.

The Redcliffe Teddy Bears’ Picnic is proudly presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and supported by Crs Houghton and Winchester.

The event will run from 9am to 12pm on May 9 at Jamieson Park, Reef Point Esplanade, Scarborough.
