Moreton Bay Regional Council’s waste operator Cleanaway has advised bin collection services, across the region, will be restored this week.
A break-in at Cleanaway’s Narangba Depot over the weekend saw more than 30 batteries stolen from garbage trucks and others vandalised, which resulted in a delay in bin collection services in Moreton Bay.
Local residents are advised to expect a half-day delay in their bin collection services, however if their bins have not been collected, they should keep their bin out until the next evening.
Residents can contact council if their bin hasn’t been serviced by lunchtime the following day. If required, Cleanaway will continue bin collection services on Saturday morning to clear any remaining backlog of services.
Council thanks residents for their patience while Cleanaway works to restore services as quickly as possible.
Council also encourages residents to contact police to report any suspicious behaviour around Cleanaway’s Depot over the long weekend.
