Clock ticking on community grant applications

16 March 2017

Moreton Bay Regional Council is encouraging community groups to get their applications in for round two of council’s 2016/17 Community Grant Program before submissions close on March 31.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said the clock was ticking for community groups, sporting clubs, not-for-profits and individuals to apply for grants of up to $15,000 and interest free loans of up to $50,000 for their project or event.

“From sporting facility upgrades to community clean-up days, council’s community grants program provides financial support to organisations and individuals to help make their project a reality,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“If you or someone you know in the region has a project or event that might need some financial support to get off the ground, I encourage you to put an application in.

“As part of the 2016/17 Community Grants Program, community groups have already shared in more than $327,000 for projects that range from facility upgrades to environmental initiatives and unique community events.”

Applications close at 5pm sharp on March 31.
