Hats are barometers of time, style and class, and as fashion objects
have the power to condense function and frivolity into one.

religions. This exhibition will explore the rich seam of fashion, style,
inspiration, craft and technique inherent in hat design through a curated
collection of hats drawn from historical collections and contemporary hat
It aims to demonstrate the importance of the hat as an
accessory that has the power to instantly impart a message of authority,
affiliation, individuality, propriety and style.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize and Head.Wear exhibitions officially
open 29 April 2014. Arrival at 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. The
opening will be followed by a forum and refreshments.
