A day of free activities!

Libraries and museums are coming together to offer you a day of hands-on workshops and experiences. Explore science, robotics, art and culture at the Caboolture Hub Fun Palace. What are Fun Palaces?

Music and Play

Drop in and sing rhymes, play musical instruments and games with your child. For parents and children, Prep and under.

10.00am - 11.00am

Minecraft Club for Kids

Crafters unite! Connect with other crafters in the same room and on the same server. Complete challenges and learn new skills. Beginners and advanced players welcome. Grades 2-6.Registration essential.

Makey Makey Fun

Drop in and find out how to make and test crafty circuit creations. Combine the Time Warp with tinfoil and create a dance mat, and make music with a keyboard made from fruit! All ages.

Adult 3D Printing Makerspace

Learn how to design an object and print it using our Micro 3D printers. Adults of all ages. Registration not required, but limited to 5 spaces.

10.00am - 12.00noon

CREEC Nature Play

Visit our touch and feel table and explore nature's sensory secrets featuring snake skins and seed pods. Take a closer look at insects with hand held microscopes and discover the small mysteries of nature. Grade 5 and under. Drop in event.

The Abbey Museum Interactive Display

Drop in and discover living history. Make your own medieval mask to take home and take a photo in our stocks too! All ages.

Knitting for the Needy

Drop in and put your needles together for the needy with our local knitting group. Pro-knitters and beginners welcome. All ages.

Museum Discovery Dock

Head on over to the Museum Discovery Dock to recycle 'used' household items into great creations. All ages. Drop in event.

Local History Lantern-Making & Slide Show

Drop in and make a take-home lantern displaying a local historical building and watch our historical building slide show. See which ones you recognise! All ages.

Family History Memory Book Making

Drop in and make a simple take-home memory book and family tree chart to start your family history journey. All ages.

Library Treasure Hunt

Drop in and join the adventure. Solve riddles and explore our library in our special treasure hunt. Successfully find all the clues to claim a reward! All ages.
11.00am - 11.30am

Storytime

Introduce your child to books and encourage a love of reading at our storytime session. Experience the magic of stories, action rhymes and songs with your child. For parents and children 2-5 years.

Big Games

Drop in and maximise your fun with giant Connect Four and other oversized games. All ages.

Our Story: Brisbane Pride Choir

Enjoy a performance by the Brisbane Pride Choir as they celebrate 20 years of performing for the community. Reminisce with popular songs from the past couple of decades, such as Georgie Girl, Downtown, Bohemian Rhapsody and more. All ages.

1.30pm - 2.30pm

Seniors of Caboolture Computer Club Information Session

Would you like to know more about computers, tablets and smartphones? Drop in and speak to helpful club staff about the classes on offer while also learning more about internet cyber safety. Adults 50+ years.

Terrarium Making

Create and decorate a miniature glass plant enclosure to take home, care for and watch grow. All ages. Drop in event.

Digital Microscope Display

Can you spot the difference between mycelium and epidermis? Get up close to a variety of textures and be rewarded for any 'new discoveries'! All ages. Drop in event.

Electro Dough & Little Bits Colour Wheel

Drop in to our electronics makerspace! Use Electro Dough to create light-up 3D sculptures or make a colour wheel that spins using Little Bits. All ages.

Intro to Tablets

Learn the basics of using your Android tablet including getting started, downloading apps, email and internet, and how to get the most out of your tablet. Please bring your tablet. Not suitable for iPad users. Adults of all ages.Registration essential and limited to 5 spaces.
