Kids Dig It! Medieval Family Fun

This hands-on event is a hall-mark of the Abbey Museum's educational experience and is designed to teach kids about life during the medieval era in an exciting and highly interactive way. Visitors are encouraged to make the experience even more exciting by dressing up in medieval attire for the day and joining in the medieval costume competition. Tickets can be pre-booked online to receive a 10% discount off normal admission.Activities this year will include shield painting, crown painting, princess hat painting, archery, archaeology digs, manuscript writing, medieval needlework and medieval dance. In addition, this year for the first time, for kids aged 12+, the Medieval Family Fun week brings you Archery Skirmish to appeal to our tweens and teens.Doors open at 9.30am.

Young Engineers LEGO® Bricks Challenge

Young Engineers LEGO® Bricks Challenge Workshop uses stories and simple demonstrations to spark imagination and critical thinking. With the use of LEGO® building blocks in conjunction with other tools and mechanical parts, our trained instructors inspire children while teaching theoretical and applied principles of science, technology, mechanical engineering and math (STEM). In addition our students develop their abilities for independent learning and improve their building skills.Young Engineers’ Bricks Challenge enrichment program introduces students to basic laws of physics and the necessary mathematic equations that coincide with those scientific calculations.
