Cultural Strategy

Moreton Bay Regional Council is committed to building a thriving region of opportunity where our communities enjoy a vibrant lifestyle.

Council is currently developing its next Cultural Strategy 2019-2022. The strategy aims to deliver opportunities to showcase and develop the region's diverse arts, culture and heritage.

Council's support arts, culture and heritage through various ways including:

  • Building the skills of creative professionals and cultural groups through professional development opportunities and providing resources that enable them to deliver a wide range of cultural activity.
  • Offering arts and cultural activities, creative programs, workshops and exhibitions through Council's library, gallery and museum networks and the Redcliffe Cultural Centre.
  • Celebrating the region's rich Indigenous and historical heritage, and preserving and maintaining historical buildings, monuments, artefacts and collections.

Council will be calling for community comment on its draft Cultural Strategy 2019-2022 in early 2019.

The Maximising Potential: Cultural Strategy 2015 - 2018 represents a shared council and community vision for the continued growth of arts and culture in the region. It aims to maximise the community benefits achieved from council's existing suite of cultural services and facilities, as well as guide the development of new initiatives that respond to the community needs and aspirations.
