Moreton Bay Regional Council presents another Cross Cultural Training in its workshop series for the community following the sell-out trainings held since 2017. This time the training is on “Working effectively with people from culturally diverse backgrounds including refugees”.
Local community service organisations, front-line service professionals, supervisors and policy-makers are invited to attend. Facilitated by Multicultural Development Australia (MDA), this tailored training will provide participants with practical skills to enhance the services they provide to people from culturally diverse backgrounds especially refugees. Learning outcomes are:
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills, experience and attitudes needed to work successfully with people from culturally diverse backgrounds, including understanding culture and its impact on your work, and strategies for cross-cultural communication.
- Understand the experiences of people from culturally diverse backgrounds especially refugees.
- Understand the impact of the refugee journey on people’s capacity to adapt to life in Australia.
- Develop skills needed to manage cultural diversity.
