Food safety program

Council takes food hygiene within our region very seriously.

Council maintains a strict public health food safety program including the monitoring of all commercial food production premises and food outlets.

Program outline

  • An assessment of all applications for new food premises.
    Prior to commencing business, Council approval is required to ensure health and hygiene standards are met
  • Issuing of licences for food premises
  • Routine inspections of all licenced food premises
  • Conducting free food hygiene courses, offering advice on basic food handling and hygiene procedures necessary to meet legal requirements

All good businesses have obligations and the Moreton Bay Regional Council is assisting food businesses to meet these obligations by providing access to food safety training.

The program is easy to follow, includes an entertaining presentation as well as interactive quizzes. A training acknowledgement form can be printed upon completion and kept as part of your staff records.
