Glassware

Glass that is not recyclable is extensively used for windows, mirrors, tiles, spectacles, shower screens, fence or balustrade glass, windows in vehicles, drinking glasses, cookware, vases and display items.

Small amounts are accepted in general waste wheelie bin. Seal inside a box or bag for disposal.

Use safety gloves, glasses, footwear and clothing when handling glass in large sizes or broken pieces and contain safely for transportation and disposal at Council Waste facilities.

Metals that can be safely separated can be recycled at the waste facility metal area.

If in working order, items may be accepted at local charities. Materials may be salvaged from waste facilities for recycling via Council Treasure Markets.
