Conveniently located close to public transport the Deception Bay Community hall is a newly constructed district level community complex suitable for a diverse range of activities.

Positioned beside playgrounds and open space this modern hall provides hirers a range of options for use. 

Main Hall

The Main Hall is part of the Deception Bay Community Hall complex and can be booked individually or with the Supper Room and Kitchen. The entire complex can also be hired. This large hall with wooden floors is approximately 19.3 metres x 14.5 metres with a floor area of 279 square metres.

There is onsite and street parking which also includes accessible parking bays near the main entrance. Please note that there maybe parking restrictions in place.

The venue is a self-service model: all hirers are responsible for set-up/pack-down and cleaning of the venue before the conclusion of hire.

The facility is available for hire between the hours of 6:00 AM and 12:00 AM (midnight).

Capacity

The Main Hall has a capacity of 250 people.

Accessibility

Deception Bay Community Hall is accessible by wheelchair from the car park accessed from Raymond Terrace, which includes 2 allocated disability access parking bays.

The internal toilets are also wheelchair accessible with a designated disability access toilet off the foyer and behind the stage. Ambulant toilets are located in both the male and female toilets.

The hall stage is wheelchair accessible.

Please inspect the venue prior to booking to ensure the facility meets your accessibility requirements.

Bookings

Regular hire is available at this facility. A regular hirer is an individual or organisation that has bookings on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. However, to ensure the centre is available for community use and one off events, each hirer is permitted a maximum of twelve (12) Saturday bookings per hirer per financial year.

Please note the following: 

  • booking requests are required at least one week prior to the requested hire date
  • a minimum of one hour hire applies to all bookings
  • bookings can be requested up to one year in advance
  • council may charge a refundable security bond to cover potential damage to the facility during hire.

  1. Check availability and complete the online booking request
  2. Review site induction program and complete registration. Note the reference number provided. You will need this number to complete your application.

  • PA system
  • wireless microphones (2AA batteries required)
  • fixed Data Projector (cables not supplied)

  • two fixed TV screens
  • stage.

Kitchen inclusions:

  • 2 x urns - 30L (160 cup)
  • cutlery and crockery for up to 200 people 
  • single door freezer
  • double glass door drinks fridge
  • commercial stove (6 burner gas top)
  • commercial oven
  • microwave
  • commercial dishwasher.

NOTE: No cooking utensils, pots, pans, serving equipment, dishwashing liquid, wash cloths or tea towels are provided.

Restrictions

  • Hirers are not permitted to sleep in the venue overnight, however, equipment may be left in the venue if the hirer has a booking for the following day by arrangement with Hall Management
  • Smoking is prohibited in, and within 5 metres of Council venues, except for designated smoking areas 
  • The use of open flames including but not limited to candles, lanterns or smoke machines is prohibited
  • Decorative items such as glitter, rice, sand or confetti is not permitted
  • Decorations must not be affixed in any way that may cause damage; this includes, but is not limited to sticky tape, pins or tacks
  • Animals, with the exception of assistance animals, are not permitted in council venues without prior approval.
  • Regular bookings on Saturdays are not permitted.

Venue inspections

Council may provide prospective hirers with one inspection prior to booking. Inspections are conducted between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM business days and subject to hall availability.
