Floodplain risk management framework

In 2010 Council commenced work on a floodplain risk management framework including new and updated floodplain modelling.

In 2011, South-East Queensland experienced a number of significant weather events that led to loss of life and significant property damage across all local governments. In response, the Queensland Government carried out the Queensland Flood Enquiry, which made 175 recommendations for State and Local Governments to implement in order to minimise the risk to people and property where similar or greater events occur in the future.
