New pontoon lease within Bribie Gardens Estate

Property owners in Bribie Gardens Estate with canal frontage who have a pontoon or wish to construct a pontoon adjoining their property are required to enter into a pontoon trustee lease over Trustee Reserve R2669. To apply for a new pontoon lease within the Bribie Gardens Estate, you will need to complete a 'Lease - Pontoon' application form online via MBRC Online Services.

Transferring an existing pontoon lease within Bribie Gardens Estate, Bongaree

Property owners are required to apply for Council’s consent to transfer of the existing pontoon lease upon sale of properties within Bribie Gardens Estate. To transfer an existing pontoon lease within Bribie Gardens Estate, you will need to complete a 'Lease - Pontoon' application form online via MBRC Online Services.

How to apply

Step 1.Collect the supporting documents

You will need to provide:

  • relevant design plans
  • a Council development application Decision Notice or information request
  • relevant authority correspondence/approvals, if applicable.

Step 2.Complete an online application 

  • Sign in to MBRC Online Services (Instructions)
  • Go to ‘Enquiries’
  • Search for ‘Corporate - Tenure Agreements’ and click ‘Start’ to begin the process
  • Select the activity - 'Lease - Pontoon’
  • Check the appropriate box for a 'New' pontoon or 'Transfer' of a pontoon lease application
  • Complete the questions
  • Read and accept Council’s terms and conditions
  • Payment by MasterCard or Visa is required at the time of lodgement, in accordance with Council's fees and charges.

Allow four to six weeks for your application to be processed.

Step 3.Obtain public liability insurance

Evidence of a current public liability insurance policy to the value of $20,000,000 will need to be provided with approved applications. The insurance policy must be in the same name as the applicant. Any other party or provider associated with your application should also have public liability cover and provide evidence of this cover to the applicant.
