Community water refill stations

South-East Queensland is experiencing hot and dry weather conditions with low rainfall forecast. While the Moreton Bay Region has not been drought declared, dry conditions are affecting water supply in some communities.

Moreton Bay Regional Council is not responsible for water supply. However, council and our region’s water supplier Unitywater are encouraging residents reliant on tank water to be prepared by checking their water level and topping up their tank.

Water carrier services

To ensure you don’t run dry, council recommends you book a water delivery with your preferred water carrier as soon as possible.

Community refill stations

Council is aware some residents who rely on tank water are at risk of running dry, and are experiencing delays from their water carrier due to increasing demand.

To support these residents who need interim water supply, council has opened small-quantity community refill stations at a number of council sites.

What do I need to do?

  • Check the status of your local community refill station below
  • Bring containers for water (up to 1,000 litres)
  • Bring a garden hose with a 12mm hose connector
  • Bring a 12mm universal tap adaptor suitable for 25mm and 20mm taps

While this is potable water, you are required to use your own equipment, so council recommends you clean and disinfect your hose and containers and boil this water if you plan to consume or cook with it.
