Gordon Road and Ferny Way, Ferny Hills - intersection upgrade

Roads project

Council is preparing to upgrade the intersection of Ferny Way and Gordon Road, Ferny Hills to a traffic signalised intersection. 

The upgrade is required to accommodate traffic growth and improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. The upgrade includes:

  • installation of traffic signals
  • additional traffic lanes to separate through-traffic and turning traffic
  • signalised pedestrian crossings at the intersection
  • reconstructed footpaths and a new shared cycle and footpath linking Samford Road and Gordon Road
  • additional landscaping and street lighting
  • fauna crossings for the safe movement of wildlife around the intersection  
  • road pavement reconstruction.

Service relocation for the project has been completed and Council is finalising the construction tender. Construction is intended to begin late March or early April.

Once the construction tender has been awarded, start dates for the work, approximate duration, contact details for the construction phase of the project will be confirmed. Check this webpage regularly for updates. You will also be able to register for updates in the coming weeks.

The State Government has been constructing the new development next to to Ferny Grove station. Council is liaising with the State Government to ensure our works are coordinated and minimise disruption during construction.
