Cabbage Tree Creek, Everton Hills - Active transport improvements

grass pathway showing wear

Council is committed to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for residents. We achieve this by investing in safe, efficient, reliable, and integrated transport networks.

Between 26 March and 19 April 2021, Council sought feedback to improve the transport network along Collins Road adjacent to Cabbage Tree Creek, Everton Hills.

We would like to thank participants for taking part in the community consultation process and providing their feedback.

Why are these improvements required

The existing pathways that run next to Cabbage Tree Creek are disjointed and inconsistent.

This results in residents needing to cross Collins Road in many locations to travel east to west or to access the facilities in Alfredson Park and Sylvia Gibbs Park.

Council is enhancing the safety and convenience of pedestrians and cyclists by widening the pathway and upgrading the creek crossings in the area.

Scope of the improvements

The proposed improvements will include:

  • a wider shared pathway for pedestrians and cyclists
  • improved crossings of Cabbage Tree Creek
  • removal and replacement of damaged sections of existing pathway
  • wayfinding and fauna-friendly lighting
  • fauna fencing.
