Harmony Day is held each year on 21 March to celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity and promote that ‘everyone belongs’.

As one of the fastest growing and culturally diverse regions in Australia, Moreton Bay Regional Council proudly supports Harmony Day activities that celebrate participation, inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

One in every four residents are born overseas, representing over 180 nationalities and speaking over 150 different languages.

The candidates were from 19 different countries including India, UK, South Africa, New Zealand and China. In celebration of Harmony Day, candidates were invited to wear their cultural dress or the Harmony Day colour orange. The evening included special prizes, viewing of a short Harmony Day film, and lots of Harmony Day giveaways.
