Council is currently taking expressions of interest from local not-for-profit or community organisations to operate a coffee van or cart at the Arana Hills Library. This will be for a period of 12 months starting in 2022, with the option to extend up to three years.
The Arana Hills Library welcomes around 2,540 visitors each week who enjoy the nearby playground and surrounding parklands. A newly established community garden may provide opportunities to use some of the produce in the refreshments served.
The successful applicant will need to show they can manage the coffee van or cart in an environmentally responsible manner. They will also need to provide positive social benefits to the community with the revenue that is raised.
The coffee van or cart will have free access to water and electricity.
