Notice of Making of Local Laws

1. Moreton Bay Regional Council (the “Council”) has, by resolution dated the 12th day of March 2019, made:
   1. Moreton Bay Regional Council Amendment Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Advertising Devices) 2019 (the “Amending Local Law”);
   2. Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019; and
   3. Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019,
      (the “Local Laws”).
2. The purpose and general effect of the Local Laws is to regulate display of election signs across Council’s Region.
3. The Amending Local Law:
   1. repeals Moreton Bay Regional Council Interim Local Law No. 3 (Advertising Devices) 2018; and
   2. amends Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Administration) 2011.
4. The Council has, by resolution dated the 12th day of March 2019, adopted a consolidated version of Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Administration) 2011.
5. Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019 authorises the making of Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019.
6. Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 1 (Administration) 2011 authorises the making of Moreton Bay Regional Council Amendment Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Advertising Devices) 2019.
7. The Amending Local Law contains anti-competitive provisions.
8. A copy of the Local Laws may be:
   1. inspected and purchased at the local government’s public offices; and
   2. viewed by the public on the Department of Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs’ website.
