Mayor Flannery thanked the Queensland Government and community for working with Council to get these initial planning stages right.

“Well-planned communities don’t just happen overnight, so you can expect this first area, Neighbourhood Development Plan Area No.1 of Caboolture West (NDP1), to take over 10 to 15 years to develop and populate with homes, people and their pets," Mayor Flannery said.

“Caboolture West as a whole will accommodate roughly 30,000 homes over a 40-year period, with approximately 3,000 of those within NDP1.

“Over time, NDP1 will feature a variety of housing options, a retail centre, a state primary school, a district sports park, local parks and large green spaces along the Caboolture River."

Council undertook public consultation on the proposed planning scheme amendment for NDP1 from 27 April to 25 May 2021 with a total of 49 submissions received.

A Consultation Report that summarises the issues raised by submitters is available to view and download from our Your Say Moreton Bay - Caboolture West NDP1.

In a separate project, we are asking the community to put forward place name suggestions for Caboolture West and the potential future suburbs within it.

NDP1 is one of the areas included in this project.
