Caboolture businesses are taking centre stage in Moreton Bay Region’s post-flood recovery, with the launch of the ‘Caboolture Made’ campaign today in partnership with the local Chamber of Commerce.

Acting Mayor Jodie Shipway said she had been blown away by the determination of local businesses to restore confidence in their community by celebrating the local heroes and resilience that already have the town bouncing back.

“As the principal activity area in the north of the region, Caboolture has evolved into an energised business economy that’s gaining national recognition,” she said.

“Not only thanks to the investor speculation around the Caboolture West development, but thanks to the scale of retail turnover in this area, the innovation of the local agricultural sector and the logistical efficiencies of industrial precincts that are so strategically located with access to the Bruce Highway.

“But at its heart this is still a rural community, and you only have to talk to those residents who’ve based their businesses here to know how proud they are to live, work, play, and invest in this area.

“It’s their confidence that gives me confidence this campaign will be a raging success.”

‘Caboolture Made’ was developed through a series of community consultation sessions held late last year.

Industry leaders, community groups and local businesses of all sizes were asked a series of questions around Caboolture’s attributes, perceptions and opportunities to shape the tone of the campaign.

The workshop revealed a number of key themes and an overwhelming sense of pride among the group.

Over the coming months, ‘Caboolture Made’ will #shoutitout and share stories and celebrate success via a social media campaign on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn as well as editorial and advertising support on local media 101.5, Moreton Daily News and Hot91.

Cr Adam Hain (Div 3) said Caboolture had gone from being an economic underdog, to a local powerhouse.

“Over the next three months, I hope to see our local business community feel increased pride in what it means to be Caboolture Made,” he said.

“If you’re Caboolture Made, we want you to shout it out!’’

“If we all get behind this campaign then it will swell beyond the local business community to engage consumers and hopefully get more of them shopping locally, which we should all be doing anyway, backing the success of businesses in our own backyard!”

To help businesses show their support a range of free resources are available on the Moreton Bay Regional Council website, including printable ‘Caboolture Made’ posters and digital assets that can be integrated into existing business marketing campaigns.

Caboolture Made is an initiative of Moreton Bay Regional Council and supported by BPW and the Greater Caboolture Chamber of Commerce.

President of The Greater Caboolture Chamber of Commerce, Naomi Cauley, said the newly formed Chamber is proud to be a supporter of the initiative.

“There is so much to be excited about in the region and we know that the Caboolture Made campaign will shine a light on what's truly great about Caboolture,” she said.

BPW (Business Professional Women) Caboolture President Gail Hudson is looking forward to growing awareness of the quality of small and medium sized businesses in the Caboolture area.

“BPW Caboolture have always supported local businesses, particularly female-led businesses. Our focus has been assisting local women and girls achieve their best in their chosen field, whether it be career or business. We believe the Caboolture Made initiative will foster growth and interest in our local area which will translate into opportunities for all involved,” she added.
