Little ones and their families are set to immerse themselves in an event that speaks to the senses, with The Hills Under 5s Playtime in the Park returning on 20 May.

Acting Mayor Jodie Shipway said the free event centred around the award-winning Hills District All Abilities Playground would spark joy and imaginations.

“We are working to make Moreton Bay the most accessible community in South-East Queensland,” Cr Shipway said.

“This event is all about ensuring everyone who lives in and visits Moreton Bay can enjoy active, healthy lifestyles.

“The playground itself boasts 16 different types of inclusive equipment across five zones including accessible swings, musical instruments, slides and a sensory garden.

“Children can get creative and explore their capabilities through a variety of free play-based workshops and activities.

“The Activity Zone will ignite all senses through nature play, messy play, musical pay, artistic play, physical play, and more.”

Division 10 Councillor Matt Constance said the jam-packed stage program would also fill the park with music and colour.

“Dance and sing along to performances from Rhyme Rhythm & Sign, Flutter the Fairy, Super Steph, Cheeky Monkey Club, Workshop Wonders, and Itty Bitty Stars,” Cr Constance said.

“For parents and carers, there will be plenty of food and beverage options and market stalls, so you can grab a coffee and a bite, or enjoy a picnic on the grass.

“Importantly, there will also be a Quiet Zone, giving children to take a break from the hustle and bustle.

“This is one of the most highly-anticipated events for families in The Hills district, and I look forward to seeing everyone come out and enjoy the day.”

The Hills Under 5s Playtime in the Park will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm on Friday 20 May at Leslie Patrick Park, 135 Olearia Street West, Arana Hills.
