Queensland Youth Week 3-14 April 2019

Moreton Bay youth, the region is your oyster! It’s Youth Week and there are plenty of activities made for and by our young residents for you to enjoy.

Major activities across the region:

  • Get amongst the action and performances in Morayfield for YFEST with music, food, rides and entertainment. The event showcases local talent with a battle of the bands, DJ and headline band, The Fergies.
  • Enjoy live music, inflatables, basketball competitions, a mindfulness garden and much more at Big Night Out - a community event showcasing positive youth development through arts and recreation.
  • Launch into the school holidays and celebrate Youth Week at the Caboolture Hub Family Fun Day. There’s activities for all ages including music, hands-on workshops, a jumping castle and exhibition tours led by young people.
  • Celebrate the ideas important to our region’s youth in the Visions of Youth exhibition created by 17 young people including careers counselling, panel discussions and much more.
  • Join artist Sue-Ching Lascelles for a DIY Soft Sculpture Workshop creating felt Aussie icons like the Vegemite jar or Iced Vovo.
  • Extend your art skills into the area of experimentation with artist Simone Eisler in the Transformative Dolls Workshop at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery.
  • Explore Japanese craft like origami, fans, Kumihimo braiding, cardboard bullet trains, and mini zen gardens in Tokyo Time.
