Seniors doing ballet

From ballet to bridal gowns, celebrate Seniors Week (17-25 August) with activities on offer across the region. The annual event offers all ages a chance to connect with seniors, recognise their contributions and encourage participation to combat social isolation.

Leap into ballet
We’ve partnered with Queensland Ballet to provide a free introduction to ballet for active older adults. Focus on improving poise, core strength, memory and mobility. No previous ballet experience necessary!

Celebrate timeless beauty
Take a guided tour of the Bowerbird and the Bride exhibition featuring the bridal gown collection of award-winning costumer designer, Marion Boyce, spanning the 1880s to 1970s.

Strike a yoga pose
Discover the mental and physical health benefits of regular yoga practice with yoga for seniors at Bribie Island Library. You’ll learn simple chair-based techniques you can do at home to improve flexibility and ease joint stiffness.

Discover eBooks
Learn how to access eBooks and digital audiobooks through the library using council’s Libby App. Our friendly library staff will run you through installation, set up and use.

Connect online
Use social media to catch up with friends and family with a free two-hour workshop on how to use Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
