A world of stories
Published 12 June 2019
We live in one of the most culturally diverse regions in Australia. One in every four Moreton Bay Region residents is born overseas, representing more than 180 nationalities and speaking 157 different languages.
In celebration of Refugee Week (16-22 June), Moreton Bay Region Libraries is capturing the experiences of refugees for inclusion in an oral history collection.
Oral history projects like this serve a vital role in preserving the stories of the people and cultures that make up the Moreton Bay Region.
The project will capture on video the personal accounts of why families and individuals left their country, the refugee process, migrating to Australia and their experience settling in our region.
