Tropical Cyclone Alfred - Council closures

Although ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has downgraded, there is still a risk of heavy rainfall which could lead to flash-flooding.

Customer service centres
Council’s customer service centres will reopen from 8:30 AM on Tuesday, 11 March.
Council’s call centre will continue to operate, including responding to emergency matters on (07) 3205 0555 or 1300 477 161.
Waste and recycling services
To assist in post Tropical Cyclone Alfred clean up, all Council waste facilities will be open for extended periods, 7 days a week from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Catch up services for general waste collections cancelled Thursday 6 March and Friday 7 March were completed on 10 to 14 March.
GO and recycling bins will be collected on your next scheduled day. Residents are encouraged to take their missed collections waste to any of our waste management facilities free of charge.
Waste collection services have resumed as normal.
Sandbag disposal
You can dispose of sandbag sand in your lawn or garden.
City of Moreton Bay sandbag shells are designed to be reused. Once dry, you can store them safely at home. If you can’t store them, they can be disposed of in general waste bins after their contents have been emptied. For more information, view Sandbag instructions.
