With the easing of the South East Queensland lockdown, Council venues have reopened subject to State Government COVID restrictions.
Council has volunteer opportunities across various program areas. These include:

Council's program areas offer a variety of volunteer opportunities and recruit new applicants through an expression of interest. Please submit an expression of interest (EOI) for each volunteer opportunity you wish to apply for.
Team member volunteer
Community disaster management team members work with the coordinator and deputy coordinator to prepare and support their community before, during and after a disaster. Team members have the following functions under the program:
Team members are not emergency “responders” and are not trained nor expected to undertake any form of emergency response related function

Bushcare provides community members with the opportunity to take part in hands-on conservation and restoration activities. There are several sites throughout the Moreton Bay Region where Bushcare activities occur. The Bushcare program is an integral part of the management of bushland reserves and is helping to conserve and manage our valuable bushland areas.
This program is currently at capacity and unable to accept new volunteers.

Engagement volunteers assist with welcoming visitors to the Environment Centres, responding to customer service enquiries, assisting with the delivery of educational programs, maintenance of resources and displays.
Environment centres - Grounds volunteer
Grounds volunteers assist with basic maintenance of natural areas such as mulch distribution and hand weeding, leaf blowing of pathways, basic boardwalk and walking track maintenance.
Community nursery volunteers maybe asked to assist with the propagation of seedlings, cleaning of used pots, preparing potting mixes and fertilizers, and labelling tube stock.
