Expression of interest: Making do
Do you have a love of upcycling? Would you like to showcase your re-purposed creations at Redcliffe Museum? We want to hear from you!
About the exhibition
Making do explores the old mantra: ‘use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without’.
During times of hardship, like the Great Depression and the war years, ‘making do’ was a way of life - furniture made from packing crates, continually mending clothing and improvising solutions to make ends meet. Today, making do is less about survival, and more about considering our impact as consumers.
Showcasing fascinating make do objects from the past, this exhibition also features reused and repurposed contemporary objects.
