Workshop: Intermediate botanical illustration

Join Dr Nita C Lester for this intermediate workshop and learn how to select and prepare botanical specimens, examine their features and accurately record their details using illustration techniques.

Nita holds the position of President of the Botanical Artists’ Society of Queensland and is a botanist, academic, artist and publisher. Nita has lectured in botanical art at Griffith University, and run workshops at Myall Park Botanic Garden, Maroochy Botanic Gardens and Mapleton Community Library. Since 2002, Nita held the office of gallery coordinator for the Myall Park Botanic Gardens and was active with the Queensland Arts Council (1990 – 2001). Nita is currently consulting professor of fine arts and botany at the University of Newcastle.
