Births, deaths and marriages

Next date: Friday, 24 May 2024 | 07:00 AM to Sunday, 04 August 2024 | 03:00 PM

Historical photograph of a Bride and her husband with wedding guests behind them as they exit a building.

Births, deaths and marriages are major life events. How we view and mark them has been shaped by customs, changing fashion, social influences, and world events.

From how World War I changed mourning practices to the meaning behind silver baby gifts, this exhibition will shed light on the rituals, traditions and beliefs behind the experiences we all share.

It will feature a fascinating array of objects from our museum collection along with loans from the community.

Exhibition developed by City of Moreton Bay.

The museum is open Wednesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
