Moreton Bay has a long history of rich cultural experiences and practice. Covering the Country of the Jinibara, Kabi Kabi and Jagera/Turrbal people there is a strong commitment to sharing culture and stories across the region. This May, Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Art Gallery Network is foregrounding the work of local First Nations artists across its three galleries in exhibition Connecting Stories - Local Artist Showcase. In these exhibitions, artists share their own stories and celebrate culture through their individual artistic practices.

The selected work exhibited at Redcliffe Art Gallery shares the artist’s relationships to the unique ecosystems and wildlife that live on Country.

Exhibiting artists:  Kenneth Henry, Nicole Faulkner, Silvia Jones-Terare, Wendy McNeil, and Garry Pitman.

This project is part of Connecting Stories, a region-wide project developed by Creative Arts Alliance, as part of the Regional Arts Services Network (RASN) and in partnership with our SEQN Galleries Network - Gympie Regional Gallery, Noosa Regional Gallery, USC Art Gallery, Caloundra Regional Gallery, Moreton Bay Galleries, The Condensery - Somerset Regional Gallery and Redland Art Gallery.
