Facilitated by a practicing artist, these workshops include fun creative activities to develop your skills and further your understanding of contemporary art.

Workshop 1 - Identity & Self

Friday 27 September, 10.30am - 2.30pm

What is contemporary art anyway? This workshop will explore what makes art contemporary and how artists express and represent their identity through their artworks. Unpack and discover how objects and symbolism can tell a story about who you are as an individual.

Participants will play with different materials and techniques such as drawing, photomontage, collage, ink and mixed media.

Workshop 2 - Place & Belonging

Friday 4 October, 10.30am - 2.30pm

Who are you and where do you belong?

How have artists in the exhibition 15 Artists explored their place in the world?

Looking at old maps, images and photos, participants will use technology and a variety of mixed media to explore and create artwork that represents how they see the world and their place within it.

Suitable for 12 to 18 years.
Participants may attend both or either workshop.
Lunch and materials provided.
