With the easing of the South East Queensland lockdown, Council venues have reopened subject to State Government COVID restrictions.
Join artist, Alison Charlton, from the exhibition Collective self by the Reddy Arts Textile Group for this hands-on workshop making a pinwheel from sari silk ribbon on a felt base.
Learn this simple stitching technique to create pinwheels that can be made into coaster for drinks, used to embellish cards or art work. In textile art, they can be both machine and hand stitched into larger art works.
This technique is suitable for the beginner through to the more experienced stitchers.

Collective self by the Reddy Arts Textile Group shares the individual identities of the collective. Each artist has prepared a set of textile pieces reflective of their personal style and individuality. In Collective self artists explore their connections to the natural environment, their everyday lives and personal identity. Through individual and collaborative works, this exhibition presents an unconventional portrait of the personalities of Reddy Textiles.
