Sculptors Exposed reveals the diversity of sculptural practice in South-East Queensland. Former news journalist, arts writer, potter and photographer, Gerry O’Connor, has selected twenty-five sculptors that he believes exemplify contemporary sculptural practice. The featured artists are achieving high levels of success in their careers. Through writings and images prepared by Gerry, the personalities and works of each of the sculptors is brought to the fore.
The exhibition will be opened by Phillip Piperides, one of Australia’s leading bronze casters, who is responsible for making and casting many of the public statues in southeast Queensland, including the Bee Gees at Redcliffe and the footballers’ statues outside the Suncorp stadium.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
