Panel discussion: Creative collaboration in practice

Event cancelled

Join us for an informative and inspiring discussion about artistic collaboration and creative partnerships with curator Hannah Williamson and artists from our exhibition, Come Together.

The panel will be discussing what makes a partnership successful, how they work together and learn along the way. We’ll also open up to the audience for questions and contributions as a collaborative conversation.

Everyone is invited to stay for refreshments, conversations, and a short tour of the exhibition after the panel discussion.

About the speakers

James and Eleanor Avery

Since 2004, the Averys have been collaborating on large-scale sculpture and installation projects, including commissioned public art projects. They divide their workspace between Australia and the UK, and many projects have also developed out of international studio residencies. Their works sit somewhere between fiction and documentary, replicated and real, and are imbued with a sense of postmodern irony.

CJ Anderson

Since graduating, CJ Anderson has made waves on the Australian design scene with his furniture. He has exhibited pieces in Melbourne at Denfair and AGM, with a career highlight exhibition at Milan Design Week in 2019. His work has been featured in the pages of VogueHome & Garden and Home Beautiful magazines. Recently, Anderson’s work was included in Solid Gold, the inaugural exhibition at the new Home of the Arts (HOTA) Gallery. Anderson’s collaborative work with Jay Jermyn considers the balance between form, function and materiality, and invites people to experience a sense of intrigue, to explore the work on a deep level and find their own meaning.
