Do you know your neighbour? Neighbours are an important social connection. Strong relationships between neighbours encourage cohesive, supportive communities.
In Know your neighbour, participating artists examine ideas surrounding friendship, social connection, community and civic responsibility. Who are we and who are the people we live our lives alongside? What does it mean to be a good neighbour, not just in a local context but also further abroad? As our communities diversify and globalisation reduces the distance between one another, our understanding of being a ‘good’ neighbour is shifting. This exhibition asks artists and viewers alike to consider their connections to their neighbourhood, community and country.
Featuring artists: Miles Allen | Jennis Ardern | Elizabeth Bach | Nicole Crosswell | Jodesa Donley| Mick Keast | Leaf and Co | Lesley Shelley | Sandra Pearce | Paul Saxby | Pamela See | John Shield | Kylie Stevens | Clare Treston
